About the Human Resources Team

The HR team provides an advisory and operational service globally on all employee matters from recruitment plans, policy and process, re-structures, and payroll. We also provide professional guidance and support to both management and employees.

Beside this core function, HR also is responsible for reporting, analyzing, and managing the Compensation Cost base which makes up 70% of the company's expenses.

How you'll contribute:

The primary responsibilities of the Junior Financial Analyst will be to support and develop the monthly reporting requirements for HR, Finance and our parent head office in Grand Rapids, including variance analysis reports and Headcount Reports.  The Junior Financial Analyst will also: support and maintain the new HR reporting tools; support the annual budgeting and forecasting of compensation costs; and review and coordinate compensation analysis in support of Finance, FP&A and the Global Head of HR. The candidate must be comfortable working with all levels within the organization.

More Precisely:

• Leading month end accounting activities including posting of payroll journals, adjusting entries and income statement reconciliation
• Support and maintenance of Power BI reporting tool
• Proactively identify and resolve issues regarding the salaries and benefits monthly financial results and liaise with business partners as required
• Support the monthly “rolling forecast” process (master data from our forecasting system, variance analysis, etc.)
• Analyze variances and trends in salaries, benefits and headcount versus budget, prior period and forecast
• Ensure the quality of information by brand and customer in our decision-making system
• Continuously develop and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy of the payroll function
• Adhoc support for HR projects (comp benchmarking, system implementation, etc.)
• Obtain information from the various stakeholders to complete the analysis requests

Skills/ Attributes Required

• 2-4 years of accounting &/or financial analysis experience (full cycle)
• Must have strong MS Excel skills
• Good analytical and synthesis skills
• Knowledge of the structure of financial statements (P&L, Account, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) and basic accounting transactions
• Knowledge of information systems (ERP)
• Ability to propose changes
• Flexible, curious, enthusiastic, ambitious and able to easily adapt to changes and to learn new tools/software
• Ability to develop or improve Dashboards / Performance Indicators
• Attention to detail with high standards of precision, very organized
• Strong work ethic with a positive, can-do attitude
• Team spirit
