The primary mandate of the Reinsurance Account Specialist is to support Acrisure Re's global branches in post placement activities on insurance and reinsurance accounts in multiple classes of business. The position includes analysis of contracts for system entry, detailed analysis of reporting, and invoicing, in addition to handling premium and quota share claims matters in both current and run-off areas of Acrisure Re business. The candidate will also analyze and evaluate claims data reported by reinsured for processing according to contract terms and guidelines, following established company procedures. In addition, special projects may be assigned such as mentoring new hires. The technical analyst will assure delivery of strong servicing of clients' accounts from an accounting, collection, and claim perspective.

How you'll contribute:

  • Possess strong working knowledge of both facultative and treaty fields and have a well-rounded understanding of multiple lines of business, such as, but not limited to, property, energy, casualty, specialty casualty, automobile, marine and accident and health.
  • Superior contract interpretations skills for more complex wording. Able to apply and interpret with minimal assistance of Senior management. Able to identify unusual contract wording and recognize impact in processing/system entry.
  • Responsible for training of peers and new hires in areas of expertise.
  • Responsible for meeting individual KPI's aligned to objectives. Responsible for encouraging others in specialization to meet their KPI.
  • May be assigned to projects and acts as a senior member of projects. Champions change.
  • Possess a thorough understanding of quota share and excess of loss structures.
  • Superior analytical skills. Independently, completing complex YEA adjustments (SS/PC), LC, and reconciliations with minimal assistance from Senior management.
  • Can calculate items in preceding bullet as well as loss ratios. Be able to accurately allocate limits and shares to losses.
  • Demonstrates the ability to draw on knowledge and experience and applies to decision making and referrals to management.
  • Able to onboard new complex contracts and clients with minimal assistance.
  • Superior problem- solving skills. Able to provide suggestions for next steps that demonstrate knowledge of impact to all areas of the business.
  • Independently, able to cover accounts for others during absences without previous knowledge of account, including handling queries, analysis, and urgent coding/invoicing.
  • Completes second checks and risk approval for peers.
  • Excellent prioritization skills - able to juggle competing priorities.
  • Aptitude to information technology (Power BI) and easily adapts to company systems and change.

 

Requirements:

  • College or University degree preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of insurance/reinsurance accounting/claims experience
  • Strong communication (written and verbal), analytical, diplomacy and negotiation skills with professionals within and outside the industry.
  • Excellent computer and technical skills. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel) with advanced Excel mastery particularly in the areas of formula and database structuring.
  • Working knowledge of intermediate to advanced statistical analysis.
  • Ability to identify, recognize and escalate critical issues for resolution.
  • A general willingness to be flexible in work habits and assigned tasks. Adaptable and comfortable in less than fully structured environment
  • Always demonstrate a positive and enthusiastic attitude.
  • Focused and detail oriented.
  • Highly organized and have excellent prioritization skills.
  • Work well under stressful conditions, sometimes within tight timelines, to keep self and others focused, objective and effective in the face of pressure.
  • Be a team player and consistently keep relevant staff informed and updated.
  • Employ problem solving and decision-making abilities to resolve challenges quickly and creatively through appropriate courses of action.
  • Results oriented: Concentrate on activities necessary to achieve departmental and company's goals.
